yadda yadda yadda

Nothing really new on my front, but since i post practially every monday, i felt obligated to say something.

Blessing went very quickly. 10 min tops, then spent the next hour with finger foods at my house. Nora stayed up until 2pm, so she slept very well in the afternoon. Finished "Act I" of X-Men II Legengs: The Rise of Apocalypse with my friends. That's about it.

Groceries are slowly blowing my estimations out of the water. This time it wasn't really my daughter's fault. Just ran out of a lot of non-edibles, which is always expensive. However, we saived 24.48 in coupons, I think that's a personal record.

Next week or the week after I have to take my cars in to have their cruise control fixed, so my car doesn't spontaneously combust and burn my house down. Somewhere in there I'm supposed to go to Ren Fest and celebrate 31 years of existence, but I'll figure out how that one works.

New Suit

The missus and I are having our wedding blessed by the church (the Catholic Seal of Approval for vegas weddings) So I had to go buy a suit. My last one didn't fit anymore, so I gave it to Goodwill when we moved. Since I've been lucky to not have to go to a funeral, and most weddings a tie/shirt/slacks is acceptable, I've never needed one. Well Getting a blessing in the church deemed it important so off we went.
Turns out this was the best time to do it, as JCPenney was having a really good sale on suits. Like, buy the jacket, and pants were a dollar for some brands, or suit/pants for 150. Turns out I bought my suit, pants & shirt for 166. Then comes the tie.

I want a purple tie to match the dress Sara wants to wear, and I wanted it in a soid color, not stripey or dotted etc. Jauque Penney did not have one so off the mall we searched.

Went into Dillards and Eureka! we found a solid purple... little dark but still. Bought it.... for 63! Really took my "Great sale" high away for buying such an expensive Tie. But all was not lost... we had to go to Kohls to get some clothes for Nora (got a $10 coupon in the mail, so 4 outfits for 2 bucks.. Yay) and nothing there. There IS a Men's Warehouse closeby so we go in. Luck upon Luck there's a lavender tie (turns out it's closer to a match to Sara's dress) thats' 20 dollars cheaper! So we buy that and return the 63 dollar tie.

so I bought what I believe was a 400 suit set for around 200. I never thought saving that type of money would make me feel proud. and look so smart.

Bacon Sandwiches

I do believe the Good Lord smiled upon man the moment he gave us the idea to take bacon, and put it on bread with some mayonaise and lettuce. Tomato was an afterthought for those that can eat them.

mmmmmmmmmmmmm Bacon.

My lawn is so dead

Not dormant, not the normal "all brown but will be back next year" but "patches are starting to show dirt and cracked earth.

I could water yes, but I'm home sporadically, and it would last well past 10 to water my whole lawn, and I'd like to be asleep by then. Also the need to take the dog out makes it interesting. I am also busy keeping my trees and bushes alive, which is no easy task either.

So funny, that earlier this year we had so much rain it was pouring down the sides of my house in rivers, and now it's so blasted hot you'd think we were in Pheonix.

Fate?

I'm not a big believer in it, but there are times when you have to sit and wonder.

Did my normal walk at lunchtime, when my brother and I were making the turn when someone hollered my last name. Turned and it was an old high school buddy names Wes. his family was up here from texas visiting his relatives.

What are the odds of that scenario actually coming to fruition? Anyone? like 1:anything? He has a boy roughly the same age as Nora, and his older daughter was more than happy to show us the incoming teeth, to with the boy allowed much more readily than Nora does.

I'm not big into Westerns

Really not. My dad was. Loved The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly, and many other "Spaghetti Westerns" but not me, just wasn't my thing.

That all being said, TNT was showing Tombstone, and That is a Western I like.
