The Roof The Roof The roof is...

finally finished! What started in May as a man trying to drum up business whilst I mowed the lawn has finally completed with another company placing on a new 25 year roof, charcoal color with a ridge vent.

Been a real learning experience on the tribulations of trying two people to talk to one another, and my first real dipping into Insurance claims. I'm happy I get to wait another 20 years before I have to do this again (severe weather not withstanding). Now it's back to the attic to floor and add a new lightswitch.

The Olympics are closing and my attic is near completion

I had the Attic Fan hole reconstituted into an Attic Ladder space, complete with ladder. Next up is laying down plywood up their for storage. After I get the roof replaced (hail) which is supposedly this Thursday, I'll start moving everything up there. And by everything I mean crates of CLothes Nora can't wear anymore, luggage we don't use except on long trips, and something to hold all the board games In Nora's closet so that she can actually use her own closet.

After that is painting the attic door and front bannister, then paint the house, then replace the water-heater, stain the deck, stain the swingset and the fence then paint the blue room to a color that Nora would like, then fix the nursery .... man, when did being an adult mean just one chore after another?

Ugh...

So my alarm goes off nice and loud at 7:10am. What's the matter with this? I wake up at 5am. So, I'm rushing around, awful slowly, to get to work. I seem to be getting nothing done. Finally I'm dressed and packing my lunch, still late for work, when...

... my alarm clock goes off at 5am.

That is NOT a good way to start a day.

One down, so many more to go.

My Insurance and Roofer have come to a pricing agreement, I pay the deductable plus an upgrade to the felt. Now I'm scheduiling the contractor to come out and alter the Ceiling fan hole in my ceiling to become an attic ladder hole, complete with ladder; possibly putting in flooring in the ceiling.

After that... fixing the wiring to get a switch to the hallway rather than my closet, then picking out colors for the house to paint, oh yes, finally toilet learning my daughter, mowing the lawn, weeding under my deck, and find a way for my family to go from 2 salaries to 1, so not much :)
